Looking great ODSS . . .
Students comparing regular batteries with rechargeables. Recharable batteries:
- require less energy to make;
- use fewer minerals from the earth;
- reduce the amount of garbage we produce;
- keep nasty chemicals out of our soil and water; and,
- save you money in the long term. A great eco-choice!

Two students model a hankie made from organic bamboo. It isn't useful when you're really sick (too many germs), but for a sniffle it's perfect. Benefits:
- bamboo takes less water & time to grow than trees - a renewable resource;
- the hankie can be washed and resused thousands of times;
- over time, you will save money (no need to keep buying wasteful tissues);
- no trees need to be cut down to make the product; and,
- it's soft, comfy and you're never stuck without a kleenex.
On the left, a shirt made from recylced pop bottles and reused fabric from the garment district in Toronto. On the right, paper made completely from processed elephant poo. Kinda gross but kinda neat, too!
